Klaatu himself already has a negative opinion of humans, and when barred from speaking to the United Nations, he decides they shall be exterminated so the planet – with its rare ability to sustain complex life – can survive. This December, there will be several movie showings to give us a good entertainment before the year ends. This coming December 12, 2008, 1951 will be back in the present time as The Day The Earth Stood Still is reinvented with a modern day Sci-Fi movie.
